Only use long-life alkaline batteries (LR
6). Carbon zinc batteries (R6) have to be
changed frequently. Do not use rechargeable
batteries. If the device is going to be out of
use for any lengthy period, please remove
the batteries. This prevents leakage. Any bat-
tery can leak.
Batteries and appliances should not be
disposed of with domestic waste but
should be handed in at appropriate col-
lection and disposal points.
2. Cleaning and disinfection
The device contains sensitive components
and should be protected against substantial
temperature fluctuations, humidity, dust and
direct sunlight. The device is not impact-resist-
ant or shockproof.
Protect against moisture. The device is not
waterproof. Only use a soft, dry cloth to
clean the device. Never use petrol, thinners
or any other strong solvents. Do not scrub
the cuff or wash it in the washing machine.
Use a synthetic detergent and rub the surface
gently. If the device has been opened, it must
be subjected to a metrological inspection by
an authorised institution.
Make sure no liquid gets into the air hose.
Allow to dry thoroughly.
If you have to disinfect the device, we recom-
mend using Descosept AF, Dr. Schumacher
GmbH, Melsungen. It can be used for fast
wipe-down and spray disinfection.
The cuff must not be washed or dry-cleaned.
