15.
Slide the front idler roller under the belt. Place a
spacer collar on each end of the shaft of the roller.
NOTE – Measure both ends of the shaft to ensure that the
roller is centered.
W
ARNING
:
Keep your fingers clear when
placing the roller.
16.
Roll the front idler towards the tensioning bolt shaft
roller. It should drop down into the guide, allowing
you to install the tensioning bolts.
17.
Thread the tensioning bolts into the idler roller shaft.
The bolts may thread easier from one side of the shaft
than the other (Figure 49).

18.
Tighten the tensioning bolts until there is less than
50 mm (2 in) of play in the belt. Do not use air tools.
To confirm the amount of play, pull the belt up and
away from the middle of the cartridge.
19.
Place a mark on the belt and measure 98.75 cm
(39½ in) and make another mark. Repeat this on the
other side of the belt.
20.
Tighten the tensioning bolts until the belt stretches
3.13 mm (
⅛
in). There should be 99.1 cm (39
⅝
in)
between the marks. (See next step if you have springs
installed on your tensioning bolts.)
21.
Tension both rods evenly, until the spring length
measures 8.9 cm (3.5”) from the end of the cartridge
to the end of the spring (Figure 49a).
Figure 49a: Spring Length 8.9cm (3.5”)
22.
Slide the belt cartridge back into the main body until
the bolt holes line up with the frame holes (Figure 50).

23.
Apply “Never Seize” onto the shaft of the hydraulic
motor. Slide the shaft into the drive roller.
NOTE – Do not forget to put the key-way in the hydraulic
motor’s shaft.
24.
Tighten the two bolts holding the hydraulic motor into
the frame. Run the belt to confirm that it is properly
tensioned and tracking correctly.
NOTE – You may have to tighten the belt after spreading
the first load. Always tension the belt equally on both
sides, using small incremental adjustments of one-quarter
turn each time and on each side.
