5. UPGRADE ITEMS

The controller specification is subject to a policy of continuous improvement and in
accordance with this policy particular items are available as retrofit upgrades for in-
service controllers.

All upgrades are user installable by a competent person or can be implemented
during a controller service.

Detailed information regarding any of these upgrade items or modification status
can be obtained from the Kendall Service Center.

Compressor

The compressor is a user serviceable part with a recommended service interval.

For increased service life the compressor can be substituted or rebuilt using the latest
extended life parts.

EPROM

The EPROM can be substituted to install the latest version software

This software includes refinements to the controller functionality, indication and
test routines.

Fan

To extend durability it is recommended that a sleeve bearing fan be upgraded to a
ball bearing fan at the next service.

The fan type can be identified by reference to the fan label. The sleeve bearing fan is
marked .…S2 and ball bearing fan is marked ....B2.

Processor PCB assembly

The processor PCB assembly can be substituted to install the latest version hardware
and software.

This includes the software upgrades provided by the EPROM and hardware to
protect the controller from impaired cooling.

Reservoir

To maintain reliability the reservoir is a user serviceable part with a recommended
service interval. Impaired cooling will reduce the service life of the reservoir.

The reservoir can be substituted to install the latest version incorporating internal
structural revisions.

Valve driver PCB assembly

The valve driver PCB assembly can be substituted to install the latest version of
hardware.

This benefits from improved pressure measurement stability.
