WIRING ANSUL AUTOMAN Il-C RELEASE
The ANSUL AUTOMAN Il-C is designed for use with a
separately listed fire detection/control unit which will initiate
the electrical signal to operate the release. Accordingly,
conduit and wiring connections between the release and the
detection/alarm control system suitable for hazardous
locations should be made by, or under the supervision, of
the detection/control system manufacturer’s technician.
Installation Of Wiring
Connect number 18 AWG min. wiring to the solenoid leads
and enclose wiring in suitable conduit and fittings for
hazardous locations. Adequate room is provided for
installation of explosion-proof junction boxes within the
ANSUL AUTOMAN Il-C enclosure.

Operating Sequence
As the normally open/external alarm contacts close, power
is applied to solenoid SOL
1
to operate the ANSUL
AUTOMAN Il-C. As the release operates, the gas cartridge
is punctured allowing actuation gas to pneumatically operate
a fire suppression system.
Note: The solenoid is a continuous duty type and there is no
internal switch to remove the solenoid power. If it is
desirable to remove power, a pneumatic pressure
switch or time delay relay which is approved for
hazardous locations should be used.
