8. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS
8.1. Every 2 working hours
-
Check for wear on all tine assemblies, and replace parts if necessary. Do not let the parts
wear too much before replacing. Working with worn tine tips, shins, heels and wings will
increase wear on the tine legs, which are considerably more expensive to replace. Make
sure to order spare-parts timely!
8.2. Every day
-
Check the complete top link connection for wear or damage. Repair immediately if
necessary.
-
Clean the machine and protect it with a rust inhibitor.
-
If the machine is new and has done its first working run, also execute the maintenance
instructions listed below in section 8.3.
8.3. Every 50 working hours
-
Lubricate all grease nipples. Make sure that you never exceed the greasing interval for the
disc hubs, see chapter 9.2. This will cause irreparable damage to the machine!
-
Check if all hydraulic couplings are tight. Tighten where necessary. Also check if any
hose damage is visible. Check the hoses for signs of abrasion, and replace damaged or
worn parts immediately. Read chapter 11.
-
Check the tightness of all nuts and bolts. Retighten where necessary.
8.4. Every 200 working hours
-
All the maintenance instructions above.
-
Check the entire machine for signs of damage or wear.
-
Check all bearings for play, e.g. disc hubs and rear roller bearings.
-
Check all warning decals for damage.
-
Check if the disc hub caps are secure, and check them for wear. Replace them if necessary.
Operating the machine while the disc hub caps are worn will lead to permanent damage of
the disc hubs! The deeper the machine works in the soil, the faster the disc hub caps wear.
-
Replace all hydraulic hoses every 5 years. Read chapter 11.
