Chapter 3:
Post-assembly and pre-use operations
The person named by the company manager as being in charge of safety on the site must check that
assembly-work on the scaffolding is compliant.
These checks concern:
•
Support points.
•
The assembly.
•
The environment.
•
The brakes.
•
Offsetting (to compensate for any localized faults in flatness)
The instructions contained on the sheet glued under the flooring MUST BE FOLLOWED.

Instructions
4-1: Instructions for use
These instructions do not replace regulations in force, which must be
referred to.
•
Comply with permissible loads on the flooring and the
structure
•
Horizontal forces must not be over 30Kg.
•
Maximum wind allowed with stabilizers = 35Km/H
•
Wind above 35Km/H: Attach the scaffolding (See chapter on
securing)
•
Remove skirting boards when the scaffolding is outside and
not in use.
Work area:
•
Do not approach any bare conductors that are under power.
•
In zones accessible to the public, prohibit all access to
scaffolding.
•
Mark out the area of use, if machinery or vehicles are liable
to pass close by…
•
Check that there are no overhead obstacles in the zone of
movement
•
Provide for tracks when on soft ground.
