Chapter 1

Tropos 7320 Router Installation Guide

Note

PoE output and battery back-up are not supported on the Tropos 7320 DC router.

Connect DC power to the router

Warning

Verify that the DC power source is off before attaching DC power cables.

Mount the router according to the appropriate mounting instructions (

“Pole, Tower, and

Streetlight Mounting Instructions”

on page 10).

Remove the connector access cover, if it is not already removed, to expose the router mother
board.

Remove the CAT5 cable shielding to expose the eight individual wires.

Create two twisted wire pairs.

— Blue and blue/white pair

— Brown and brow/white pair

Note

The other four wires will be unused.

Strip 1/4 - 1/2 inch at the end of each wire pair. Take care when stripping the wires to avoid
fracturing or otherwise damaging the conductors.
