Facing Example – Thick Facing 

Thick facing may be used with the fireplace.  It must be spaced 3/8” (9mm) from the tile stop to allow the 
glass trim to install correctly.  See the illustration below. 

 

(a)  Framing to side of fireplace. 

(b)  Fiber board above tile stop. 

(c)  Thick facing (cultured stone, brick, etc.). 

(d)  3/8” (9mm) gap is required around the perimeter of the tile stop to allow for the glass trim to install 

correctly. 

(e)  Fiber board to the side of tile stop. 

(f) Tile 

stop. 

(g)  ½” Tile board (or other suitable material) installed below the tile stop.
