Cardan Assembly
Before assembling the cardan, check whether
the number of revolutions and the direction of
the revolutions is the same of that of the tractor.
Carefully read cardan and tractor instructions
manual. Before starting to work, check whether
safety protections on movable parts of the
machine, cardan and tractor are in place. Pay
special attention to safety protection guards that
cover the cardan.
Disconnect the two parts of the cardan (male/
female).
Couple cardan to tractor discharge power.
Place the two parts of the cardan parallel to
each other and mark the cutting area, allowing
2.5 cm on each end.
Cut excess on male and female ends.
Connect the parts of cardan and couple it to
tractor.
Secure protection retention chains. The ideal
operation condition is obtained with the
chain placed radial to transmission. Adjust the
length of chains to allow transmission to be
articulated under any working, transportation
and maneuvering condition. Make sure chains
do not entangle around the transmission due
to excessive length.
Before starting to work, make sure cardan
transmission is properly secured to the tractor
and equipment. Check whether securing
screws are properly tightened.
Note:
The pieces cut from the solid and
tubular parts of the cardan shall have
the same length.
Allow at least 2.5 cm on each end of
the cardan.
Do not use the chains to transport or
support cardan transmission when
work is done. Use proper support.
When transporting transmission,
keep it in horizontal position to
prevent parts from getting apart,
causing accidents or damaging
protection guard. Use transportation
means adequate to the weight of the
transmission.
