6.3.5. derope™ UP with drill / driver
DANGER
:
–
Before setting up the drill / driver at the end of
the axis of the derope™ UP R device hand wheel,
ensure that the retractable handle of the hand
wheel is folded in.
–
Place the chuck of the drill / driver around the 6
sides at the end of the hand wheel axis.
–
Tighten the chuck on the 6 sided axis.

7. Use
7.1. Recommendations for use and
operating limits of derope™
descender
DANGER:
derope™ descenders are often
used when performing work at heights. In this
respect, do not forget that work at heights is subject
to the following rules:
–
Persons working at heights must be in perfect
physical and psychological condition.
–
Persons working at heights must be perfectly
trained in this respect.
–
Working at heights is prohibited for pregnant
women.
–
A rescue plan must be prepared before
beginning any work performed at heights.
For voluntary evacuation purposes, the derope™
descenders must only be used by trained, qualified
technicians, or failing this, under the supervision of a
qualified technician.
For rescue evacuation purposes, the rescue operations
must only be carried out by persons trained and
qualified for this purpose.
The utilization recommendations for the various models
of the derope™ descenders are given in the table
below.

DANGER:
For descending, use of the
derope™ descender is limited with respect to load,
descent height and number of repeated descents.
For a single descent:
– the maximum load is 225 kg for a maximum
descent height of 200 m.
– the maximum descent height is 400 m for a
maximum load of 150 kg.
For repeated descents, use of the derope™ descender
is limited with respect to load, descent height, and
number of repeated descents in accordance with the
limits indicated in the table below.
