3. Once a pre-set has been selected, all the coloured indicators on the unit’s LCD
screen will light up at once and begin to flash, to indicate the pre-set cooking
cycle is ready to start. When this occurs, press the OK button to begin the
automatic cooking cycle. The blue Pre-Heating light on the unit’s control panel
will remain lit and continue flashing, but all the other indicator lights will go
out. This indicates the unit is pre-heating.
Note:
The pre-heating time for this unit is approximately 3 minutes.
4. When the unit has finished pre-heating, there will be a repeating sound
prompt and the amber Start to Cook indicator will come on and begin flashing.
This indicates the unit has reached the correct temperature and the food can
now be placed onto the grill plates.
5. Place the food onto the grill cooking plates and close the lid. The grill will
automatically determine the thickness of the food within the first 5 seconds of
the cooking process, and adjust its settings accordingly. The Start to Cook light
will stop flashing and become solid to indicate the food thickness has been
assessed and the grill is ready to begin cooking.
Note:
Once the lid is opened to insert the food, be careful not to close it again
until all the ingredients are in place. If the lid is closed during this stage and
the grill plates are empty, the unit will automatically default to the minimum
thickness settings, and the food may be undercooked as a result.
6. The cooking cycle will now begin. The cooking progress can be assessed at
any time by referring to the coloured indicators on the unit’s LCD display. Each
stage of the cooking process is represented by a different colour – blue for
Pre-Heating, amber for Start to Cook, green for Rare, orange for Medium and
red for Well Done. Each of these indicators will flash when the cooking process
is in the corresponding stage of the cooking cycle and become solid when
that stage has concluded and the unit has moved on to the next step of the
cooking process.
7. When all five indicators are solid, the cooking cycle has come to an end. There
will be a repeating sound prompt to indicate the food has been fully cooked
and is ready to be served. When this prompt sounds, lift the lid and remove the
food from the cooking plates to prevent over-cooking. Leave the food to stand
for 3-5 minutes and check that it is piping hot and cooked through before
serving.
Note:
When the Beef pre-set is selected, the unit will give off an additional sound
prompt when the meat reaches Rare doneness, another when it reaches Medium
doneness, and a third when it reaches the Well Done stage, at the end of the
cooking cycle. This helps prevent over-cooking and ensure the steak is cooked to
the desired doneness. For every other cooking mode, the unit will only give off a
sound prompt at the end of the cooking process, when the food is ready to serve.
