3.2  Executing the Diagnostic Test 

To start the DIAGNOSTIC PROGRAM, follow these steps: 

1.

 

Insert the Diagnostics disk in the floppy disk drive. 

2.

 

Release the lock of the power switch and turn on the computer with pressing the 

F12

. 

Select the FDD in the display for selecting booting unit. Then, press 

Enter 

and the 

following menu appears. 

Microsoft Windows XX Startup Menu

1. Repair Main (T&D) 
2. Repair initial config set 
3. Repair Heatrun (T&D) 

Enter a choice: 1 

To start the Diagnostics menu (T&D), press 

1

 and 

Enter

 . 

To start the H/W initial information setting tool, press

 and 

Enter

. 

To start the Heatrun test, press 

3

 and 

Enter

. 

NOTE

: When replacing the system board, be sure to execute the following procedures.  

   

 

(1)Before replacing the system board, execute subtest03 "DMI information save" 
in 3.3 Setting of the hardware configuration in order to save the DMI information 
from system board to floppy disk. 

   

  (2)After replacing the system board, execute the subtest04 "DMI information 

recovery" and subtest08 "System configuration display" in 3.3 Setting of the 
hardware configuration in order to copy the DMI information and system 
information from the floppy disk.
