Frequently Asked Questions

What is the default username and password for the RemotEye ESS?

Username: TOSHIBA Password: ADMIN

What is the default IP/ Gateway Address or Subnet of the RemotEye ESS?

IP Address: 192.168.1.168 Gateway Address: 0.0.0.0 Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Why doesn’t Tupgrade list the RemotEye ESS I am looking for?

First, make sure the RemotEye ESS and computer are on the same network segment (ie. Same router). If
the issue persists, follow the steps on "Setup Port (mini-USB Port)" section to access RemotEye ESS
console where the network IP settings can be configured.

Where can I find the MAC Address of the RemotEye ESS?

The MAC Address can be found on a sticker underneath the RemotEye ESS. Or by going to
"System/Network" web page under "Settings" menu.

Where can I find the dip switch number for the SCiB ESS?

The SCiB ESS dip switch number is found on the Host Board of the cabinet. Please refer to the SCiB ESS
manual to locate the dip switch and how to read the value from it. Or by going to the "SCiB Communication
Settings" web page under "Settings" menu.

How do I perform a factory reset? Forgot password?

In order to perform a factory reset you will need to have access to the physical RemotEye® ESS. The steps
below will set all the settings to default. Please note that this will reset IP address and user credentials to
default.

Before proceeding, ensure all safety precautions in the UPS/ESS user manual are followed when removing
the RemotEye® ESS from the enclosure to perform a reset.

1. Remove Ethernet cable, communication cable, power cable, and unmount the RemotEye ESS from the
mounting bracket.
2. Remove the four Phillips screws under the RemotEye ESS and open the case.
3. Power the RemotEye ESS with the supplied AC/DC power adapter, and wait 1 minute so that it fully
boots up.
4. Then press and hold the "Reset" pin button for 10 seconds. The "Reset" pin button location is depicted in
the picture below with the "C" text reference. Reassemble the RemotEye ESS and reconnect the Ethernet
cable.
5. If successful, username is TOSHIBA and password is ADMIN
