4. BACKGROUND PROCESSING
SVR-DS processes data and signals for OIS-DS/SVR-DS in background processing.
Alarm Monitoring
OIS-DS/SVR-DS monitor process alarms and system alarms. SVR-DS performs signal
processing of these alarms. OIS-DS displays these alarms and allows operators to operate them.

Process Alarms
Process alarms are managed according to the alarm confirmation methods and alarm grades.
There are the following three types of alarm confirmation methods.
Alarm Confirmation Methods
You can specify one method from Type A, Type B, and Type C for each tag.
•
Type A
This type requires the display return operation. When a signal is recovered and you perform a
confirmation operation, flashing stops. The alarm remains displayed until you perform the
display return operation.
‚
Type B
This type displays alarms that correspond to process states. When a signal is recovered, the
unconfirmed alarm remains until you perform the confirmation operation.
ƒ
Type C
In this type, signal changes cause alarms. The system goes into the unconfirmed alarm state
when an alarm occurs, and unconfirmed normal state when the alarm is recovered. You must
perform the confirmation operation to confirm the alarm.
