Connecting the speakers (
ZP48 models only
)
In order to enjoy the full benefits of Surround Sound/Dolby Digital it is necessary to connect two rear
surround speakers and two front extension speakers.
External Hi-Fi speaker specifications must be
8 ohm, 10W minimum.

When connecting external speakers always make sure
that the power is OFF.
Do not attempt to SHARE
external speakers with your Hi-Fi as serious damage
may occur.
The front speakers should be positioned either side of the
television and will deliver the left and right sound. The
internal speakers will then deliver the centre channel
when required. These are suggested positions only. Place
the speakers to suit and adjust the balance as necessary.
To connect extension front speakers press the connectors
of the Main speaker terminals on the back of the
television and insert the cables. The switch must now be
set to
EXT
as shown.
Make sure that the lead with the stripe (or raised
edge) is connected to the RED terminal and the other
(smooth) lead is connected to the BLACK terminal.
To connect surround speakers press the connectors of the
Surround speaker terminals on the back of the television
and insert the cables.
These speakers should be sited in line with the normal
viewing position.

To use an external amplifier to power the surround
speakers insert the phono plugs into the Surround out
connections on the back of the television.
No sound will come from the Surround Sound terminals if
this option is chosen.
