pedal has three functions: one, to make the machine
move forward, two, to move it backward and three, to
stop machine. Using the heel and toe of the right foot,
depress top of pedal to move forward and bottom of
pedal to move backward or to assist in stopping when
moving forward. Also, allow pedal to move or move it to
neutral position to stop machine.

Ground speed is proportionate to how far traction
pedal is depressed. For maximum ground speed,
pedal must be fully depressed while throttle is in FAST
position. To get maximum power or when ascending a
hill, have throttle in FAST position while depressing
pedal slightly to keep engine rpm high. When engine
rpm begins to decrease, release pedal slightly to allow
rpm to increase.

start and stop the engine, has three positions: OFF,
RUN and START. Rotate key clockwise Ċ START
position Ċ to engage starter motor. Release key when
engine starts. The key will move automatically to the
ON position. To shut engine off, rotate key
counterclockwise to OFF position.

carburetor choke by pulling choke control out to ON
position. After engine starts, regulate choke to keep
engine running smoothly. As soon as possible, open
the choke by pushing it downward to the OFF position.
A warm engine requires little or no choking.
