Changing the Engine Oil Filter
Note:
Change the engine oil filter more frequently
when operating conditions are extremely dusty or sandy.
1. Drain the oil from the engine; refer to Changing the
Engine Oil.
2. Place a rag under the oil filter to soak up any spilled
oil.
Important:
Spilled oil may drain under the
engine and onto the clutch. Oil spilled on the
clutch may damage the clutch, cause the blades
to stop slowly when the clutch is switched off
and cause the clutch to slip when the clutch is
switched on. Wipe up any spilled oil.
3. Change the engine oil filter (Figure 47).

Note:
Ensure the oil filter gasket touches the engine
and then an extra 3/4 turn is completed.
4. Fill the crankcase with the proper type of new oil;
refer to Changing the Oil.
Servicing the Spark Plug
Service Interval:
Every 100 hours
Make sure the air gap between the center and side
electrodes is correct before installing the spark plug.
Use a spark plug wrench for removing and installing
the spark plug(s) and a gapping tool/feeler gauge to
check and adjust the air gap. Install a new spark plug(s)
if necessary.
Type for all Engines:
NGK
®
BPR4ES or equivalent
Air Gap:
0.030 inch (0.75 mm)
