Draining the Fuel System
You can avoid fuel deterioration
problems by draining the fuel tank
and vapor separator.
Drain the fuel into an approved fuel
container.
1. Unhook the drain hose from the
clip on the lower left of the head
cover.
2. Set the end of the hose toward the
outside of the engine undercase and
below the level of the vapor
separator drain screw.
3. Loosen the vapor separator drain
screw by using a commercially
available flat tip screwdriver.

Gasoline is highly flammable and
explosive.
You can be burned or seriously
injured when handling fuel.
• Stop the engine and let it cool
before handling fuel.
• Keep heat, sparks, and flame
away.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
• Keep away from your vehicle.
• Wipe up spills immediately.
