Installing the Filter
If not already installed, hold the Filter by the widest part. Hold the Kettle so
that the Spout is facing away from you. Slide the Filter down so that the tab
at the bottom of the Filter fits into the groove in the bottom of the filter holder
slot. The sides of the filter should fit on the inside of the filter holder grooves.
DO NOT
use the Kettle without the Filter in position as water may spill out
when boiling.
DO NOT
remove the Filter when the Kettle is hot.
Descaling
Under normal use, a deposit of scale may form on the inside of the Kettle. If
descaling is required, follow the directions below:
1. Unplug Power Cord from wall outlet and allow Kettle to cool completely.
2. Open the Lid. Remove the Filter by gently lifting the filter upwards.
Wash the Filter under running water and replace.
3. Scale which has accumulated inside the Kettle can be removed by
boiling equal parts of white vinegar and water, 2 cups/500 ml of each
is recommended. To boil, follow the directions in the 'Instructions for
Use - Conventional Boiling Method' section.
4. Unplug the Kettle from the wall outlet and allow the mixture to stand
overnight. Empty out the mixture.
5. Fill the Kettle to the MAX level with fresh cold water.
6. Bring water to a boil and discard. For heavy scale build-up, repeat this
process.
