DO NOT use for other than boiling water. Other liquids will contaminate
the interior of the Kettle.
DO NOT fill past the MAX level indicated on the Water Level Window.
Overfilling may cause water to spill out when boiling.
5. Close the Lid. The Lid must be properly closed to ensure correct operation
of the Kettle.
6. Place Kettle on Base making sure it is correctly engaged on its Base.
7. Plug Power Base cord into a 120V AC wall outlet.
NOTE: Never plug Power Base with empty Kettle into the electrical outlet.
8. If the blue status indicator in the 'Keep Warm' Switch is illuminated, press
the 'Keep Warm' Switch to turn off this function for 'Conventional Boiling'.
9. Depress the On/Off Switch to the 'On' ('I') position. The interior light will
illuminate and be visible through the Water Level Window to indicate
that the Kettle is in the boil cycle. Once the water has boiled, the On/Off
Switch will automatically switch to the 'Off' ('0') position and the internal
light will go out.
10. Always ensure the Kettle has switched off before removing it from the
Power Base. Unplug cord from wall outlet before lifting Kettle from Power
Base. Grip the Kettle by the Handle only as all other surfaces will be hot.
11. If you want to use the Kettle again, allow the thermal safety switch to
cool down for 15 to 20 seconds. Fill the Kettle with water between the
MIN and MAX markings, then depress the On/Off Switch to the On ('I')
position.
12. Return the Kettle to the Power Base.
13. After use, the Kettle should be either placed back on the Power Base or
on a heat resistant surface.
14. If the Kettle is accidently switched on when empty, the thermostat will
cycle on and off until the kettle is unplugged. If this situation occurs,
unplug the Power Base and let the Kettle cool before filling.
NOTE: You can manually switch off the Kettle during the boiling cycle by
pressing the On/Off Switch to the 'Off' ('0') position.
