TMEES ELECTRONIC EXHAUST VALVE (125 END/MX)
Starting from 2012, on the 125 engines in END and MX versions, a new
digitally controlled valve has been introduced to shut the exhaust port.
The main components are shown in the picture. Servomotor (1), control
cables (2), cylinder with valve (3). The system is completed by the ECU
(4) located behind the steering pipe and the harness (5).
VALVE CONTROL CABLES TENSION CHECK
To assure the correct operation of the TMEES valve, it is very important
to check periodically the control cables tension.
To do this, move the rubber nipples (6) which protect the cables on both
servomotor and cylinder sides.
Remove the cylinder cover (7), lock the servomotor pulley (8) by insert -
ing a 4mm. dia. pin into the servomotor cover hole (9) moving a little
the cylinder pulley (10) to find the correspondent hole of the servomotor
pulley (8) not visible from outside.
WARNING
The servomotor cover (9) has been removed to allow you to see the
pulley (8) and show the hole for the centering pin.
When performing a normal check operation, it is not necessary to remove
the cover itself, on the contrary it has to be left assembled to allow the
use of the centering pin.
