Writing texts
The tiptel 85 System text editor allows you to enter text and numbers using the
number keys. The relationship between the letters and the keys is shown on the
casing, above the corresponding key.

If you press a number key whilst in editor mode, the first character in the table will
appear in the text window. If you keep pressing the same key, you will scroll
through to the next character in the table. You can then see which key you have to
press for which characters.
If the key is not pressed for around a second, the current character will be
accepted and the cursor will move to the next space in the text window. To speed
up the process, you can accept the character and move on to the next position by
pressing the
RIGHT
cursor key. Use the
+ KEY
to toggle between upper and
lower case and the
–
KEY
to toggle between overwriting and insertion modes.
You can use the cursor keys to have the cursor move freely between multi-line
entry fields in the text window.
The
DEL key
allows you to delete the last character to the left of the cursor. If you
hold the key down for 1.5 seconds, the last word will be deleted.
