SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS

ALWAYS IMMOBILISE THE TRACTOR BEFORE UNDERTAKING ANY MAINTENANCE WORK ON THE
CHIPPER.
Always stop the tractor engine before installing or removing the prop shaft. •
Handle hammers with extreme caution to avoid injury. Gloves should always be worn when handling the hammers. •
The drive belts should be connected while changing hammers, as this will restrict sudden movement of the drum. •
The major components of this machine are heavy. Lifting equipment must be used for disassembly. •
Clean machines are safer and easier to service. •
Avoid contact with hydraulic oil. •
SAFE MAINTENANCE
To top up the gearbox oil (EP80 or EP90):
Remove the prop shaft. 1
Remove the gearbox guard 2
Locate the filler cap shown and remove. 3
Locate the level bolt and remove; this will indicate the 4
appropriate oil level. NOTE: If oil runs out, topping up is NOT
required, continue to step 6.
Slowly pour the oil into the gearbox via the filler hole, when 5
the oil appears at the top oil level hole stop.
Replace the level bolt and filler plug. 6
ALWAYS REMOVE THE SHREDDER FROM THE TRACTOR BEFORE PERFORMING MAINTENANCE.
To change the gearbox oil (3.3 litres EP80 or EP90):
Locate the drain plug, place a suitable contain to catch the 1
3.3 Litres of oil under the drain point.
Remove the drain plug. Leave to stand for 10 minutes. 2
Replace drain plug. 3
Follow steps 1 to 6 to fill the gearbox with new oil. You will 4
need 3.3 litres of EP80 or EP90 gear oil.
Dispose of the waste oil responsively according to local 5
legislation.
