Sensor Parameters
Cathode Control Mode (CM)
The cold cathode sensor can be switched on either manually or automatically.
The corresponding device parameter "Cathode Control Mode" (CM) can be set
by software command via RS485 interface:
"0":
"User Control"
Sensor has to be switched on and off manually
"1":
"Automatic Control" (default)
Automatic sensor control
Manual switch-on and switch-off of the cold cathode can be done by software
command "Cathode Control" (CC) or by applying a defined voltage signal to pin 9
of the transducer's electrical connector. As voltage level 3…24 VDC (default) or
alternatively GND can be used, the selection is done by Parameter "Cathode
Control Logic" DL.
When the cold cathode sensor is off the VSI will not transmit pressure measure-
ments, 9.8 V are applied to the analog signal output.
Switch cold cathode on and off - Cathode Control (CC)
For manually switching on and off the cold cathode sensor by software command
via RS485 interface device parameter Cathode Control (CC) can be used:
"0":
off - Switch off cold cathode
"1":
on - Switch on cold cathode
A query of this parameter is also allowed in order to check the sensor's operating
status.
When the cold cathode sensor is off the VSI will not transmit pressure measure-
ments, 9.8 V are applied to the analog signal output.
Parameter Cathode Control (CC) is only temporarily saved in
the transducer memory. After mains supply is switched off or
disconnected the parameter will be reset to "off" !
