The Scanning Tab
The Scanning tab allows the target properties and Scanning area to be adjusted.
Target (Calibration Reference Source) emissivity and background temperatures are
used to define the reference values that are incorporated in Thermoteknix
proprietary algorithms which adjust the FevIR Cam sensitivity and internal calibration
to register against the measured value of the Calibration Reference Source to
achieve high accuracy absolute temperature measurement. Human skin has an
emissivity of around 0.98. The background temperature should be set to the ambient
temperature of the monitoring site locale. An accuracy within 2-3°C is sufficient.

Scanning Area
FevIR Cam enables the area of the screen in which subject monitoring and
application of pre-set alarm conditions are performed. The Scanning area should be
set to include only the region of interest for monitoring and any fixed hot objects
should be excluded. The blackbody temperature reference unit must
NOT
be
included within the Scanning area.
The monitored region can be any arbitrary rectangle, defined graphically by using
the mouse or by typing co-ordinates in the set-up menu. After it has been defined, it
can be dragged by using the mouse.
