• When approximately 2.54 cm (1 in.) of shaft remains, twist
slightly to engage the bearing assembly.
• When approximately 0.64 cm (0.25 in.) of the shaft remains,
twist to align the motor drive keyway with one of the four outer
slots on the drive shaft head (Figure 2.32).
CAUTION:
In facilities with low ceiling heights, use caution to
avoid impacting the ceiling or ceiling fixtures when removing and
inserting the drive shaft.

4. Use the following steps to directly couple the drive shaft to the
motor drive:
• Place the threaded cap on the hollow pass-through and hand-
tighten clockwise.
• Tighten the cap by placing the spanner wrench on the hollow
pass-through and tighten the cap using the supplied torque
wrench (Figure 2.33). The torque wrench is a standard 3/8 in.
square drive, and it is calibrated at the factory at 150 in-lb.
• Remove the wrenches and place them in storage holders.
• Close the safety cover and insert the latch pin.
