13. If your unit is equipped with the optional drum positioner, secure
the drum and dolly to the positioned with the supplied strap
(Figure 2.19).

2.5.2 Closed-top BPC loading
Use the following steps to load a closed-top BPC.
1. If it is not already there, place the drum on the dolly.
2. For ease of installation, ensure that the drum is moved two to
three feet away from the docking station.
3. For 50 L BPCs, be sure the plastic spacer is in the bottom of the
100 L drum, under the conical insert (Figure 2.20). The spacer
allows a 100 L drum to be used with 50 L BPCs.

4. Carefully unpack the BPC from its two protective polybags. The
easy-to-use safety blade polybag opener (available from Thermo
Fisher Scientific) is one option. Do not use scissors or a knife to
remove the polybag as this may damage the BPC.
