NOVA OPERATION 33
OVER-WRITING A CHASE
You can over-write any previously recorded Chase as follows:
1
Set up a new Scene or step of a Chase using the Channel faders.
2
Press [RECORD] to record the levels.
3
Hold [RECORD], and press the Flash key of the old Chase. Wait for a long Mimic flash, then press it again.
The long Mimic flash after the first press is a warning that the Scenemaster holds a recorded Scene or Chase. The short Mimic
flash on the second press indicates the new Chase has been assigned, and the old recording over-written.
EDITING CHASE LEVELS
You can edit the playback levels of any Chase step. Level editing of a step can only be carried out with the Chase stopped, and
the Chase step live on stage. To stop the Chase you must set the Speed Master to Stop. It can then be stepped through using the
Step/Stop key to step forward, and the Step/Stop with the Cue Go key to step backwards. You can then use the Up and Down
keys to edit the step levels as previously described under Scene Editing. Record must be enabled for level editing.
1
Set the Fade Master at Instant, and the Speed Master at Stop.
2
Set the Scenemaster at Full so the first step of the chase is live onstage.
3
Press [STEP/STOP] (step forward), or [STEP/STOP] and [CUE GO] (step back) to select the chase step to edit.
(You can use the Speed Master for faster access, and then return it to Stop mode).
4
Hold [UP] or [DOWN] and press Channel flash keys to edit levels. The Channel mimic LEDs show the level of the
currently selected channel. Levels are edited directly in the Chase memory.
Note that the Speed Master must be at Stop (at the bottom of the scale) when using the Edit Up and Down keys.
INSERTING OR DELETING CHASE STEP
Chase steps cannot be inserted or deleted directly, but you can get the same effect in a short time by re-recording a new Chase
using the steps from the old Chase and then overwrite the new chase into the old Scenemaster:
1
Set the Fade Master at Instant, and the Speed Master at Stop.
2
Set the Scenemaster at Full so the first step of the old chase is live onstage.
3
Press [STEP/STOP] (step forward), or [STEP/STOP] and [CUE GO] (step back) to select the chase step to re-
record. You can use the Speed Master for faster access, and then return it to Stop mode.
4
Record new steps from any other chase or scene (or the Channel faders) in order.
5
Hold [RECORD], and press the Flash key of the old Scenemaster. Wait for a long Mimic flash, then press it again
before releasing [RECORD].
The new Chase will now be in the recorded order.
