Search
A list with all base stations received (“AP” for access
points) with their name, security mode and signal
strength will appear.
To show the list again, select “Re-scan” and push the

The following buttons perform special functions:
“!@#$” – switch to small letters and special charac-
ters.
“Back” – delete the last character.
“Space” – insert a space.
“Enter” – stop input.
“Clear” – completely clear the input line.
Now enter the exact password. Take note of capital/
small letters and special characters.
Select “Enter” in the end. The password entered will
be shown again for reference. Select “Next” and push
the
OK button (26)

The Impaq 8000 will attempt to establish a connec-
tion and will display the result.
Manually
Enter the following data on the Impaq 8000 for a
manual connection:
• the name of the Wi-Fi base station (also referred to
as “Identifier” or “SSID”),
• the security mode (encryption),
• the password (also referred to as “Key” or “Pass
phrase”).
Enter the name and password using the input field
(see “Search” in the previous section). Select the
security mode from a list.
The Impaq 8000 will attempt to establish the connec-
tion and will display the result.
Automatic
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is a standard for a basic
connection with a wireless local network with encryp-
tion. The Impaq 8000 offers two connection methods:
•
PBC
(Push Button Configuration) – On the AP (base
station, router), the connection button is pushed
and the Impaq 8000 can establish a connection
without any further input for two minutes.
•
PIN
– the Impaq 8000 issues a random code for
entry on the AP (base station, router).
Please refer to the user manual for your AP for more
information.

PIN
: Note the PIN code that is shown, enter it on your
AP and initiate the connection process (see the user
manual of the AP).
