Replace Hydraulic Tank Return
Filter Element

cations require that this procedure
be performed every 1000 hours or annually,
whichever comes
fi
rst.
Replacing the hydraulic return
fi
lter element is
essential to good machine performance and
service life. A dirty or clogged
fi
lter element
may cause the machine to perform poorly and
continued use may cause component damage.
Extremely dirty conditions may require that the
fi
lter element be replaced more often.
CAUTION
Bodily injury hazard. Beware of
hot oil. Contact with hot oil may
cause severe burns.
Note: Perform this procedure with the engine off.
1 Remove the access cover to the tank.
2 Release the pressure in the oil reservoir by
loosening the
fi
ller/breather cap.
3 Unscrew the return
fi
lter.
4 Install the new
fi
lter element.
5 Tighten
the
fi
ller/breather cap.
6 Record the hours the
fi
lter element was
replaced and keep with your maintenance
records.
7 Start the engine.

8 Inspect
the
fi
lter assembly to be sure that there
are no leaks.
9 Clean up any oil that may have spilled during
the installation procedure.
