Adjustments
Cable Meter
1.
If any cable length reading is outside the speci
fi
cation, perform the following
adjustment procedure. Perform both the Short and Long steps for any input
(SDI A or SDI B) and any standard (HD, SD, and 3 Gb/s) that was found to
be outside the speci
fi
cation.
NOTE.
Be sure to use a generator with SDI output set as close as possible to
800 mV, since the Cable Meter adjustment establishes the Source Level and the
Approx Cable (cable length) calibration.
2.
Press
CONFIG
, select
Utilities
>
Calibration
, and then press
SEL
to start
the calibration process.
3.
Use the up and down arrow buttons to navigate to the Cable Meter calibration

Press
SEL
to start, and follow the on-screen instructions.
5.
Follow the instructions at the bottom of the screen to Save and Exit
Calibration mode.
SD, HD, and 3G Clock
Extractor (Jitter Noise
Floor)
If the Jitter Noise Floor is outside of the speci
fi
cation, perform the Eye CDR
Null calibration, as described below.
1.
Press the
CONFIG
button.
2.
Select
Utilities
>
Calibration
and press
SEL

5.
Follow the instructions at the bottom of the screen to Save and Exit
Calibration mode.
6.
Restart the Jitter Noise Floor test, and then record the new values in the test
record provided in the Speci
fi
cations and Performance Veri
fi
cation manual.
Eye Gain
If the Eye Gain is outside the speci
fi
cation, perform the following adjustment
procedure for SDI A and SDI B inputs.
1.
Connect a signal source, with an 800 mV, 1 MHz, square wave signal to the
SDI A input. Make sure the source is calibrated and the signal amplitude is
within a few millivolts of 800 mV.
2.
Press the
CONFIG
button, and then select
Utilities
>
Calibration
. Press
SEL
to enter the calibration menu.
3.
