Connect an AES test tone generator to the AES A IN 1, 2 connector.

If there is nothing displayed on the surround display, proceed to step c ;
otherwise, replace the audio board.
c.
Probe pins 3 through 14 on the main board connector J26, and verify that
the signals on all the pins are toggling. If any of the signals on pins 3
through 14 do not toggle, replace the main board. If they all do toggle,
check them again on the audio board J200. If any of the signals on the
pins do not toggle on the audio board, replace the cable.
d.
Probe pins 15 and 20 on connector J26 during the boot sequence, and
verify that the signals on the pins toggle. If they do not toggle, suspect
the main board. If the signals do toggle, check them again on the audio
board J200. If any of the signals on the pins do not toggle on the audio
board, replace the cable.
e.
Probe pin 27 on the audio board connector J200. If the signal on the pin
does not toggle, replace the audio board; otherwise, check it again on the
main board connector J26. If the signal on pin 27 does not toggle on the
main board, then replace the cable; otherwise, replace the main board.
f.
If all of these steps pass, replace the audio board.

Audio DSP Self Test - X

X is any other number or string, replace the audio board.
Examine Power-Up
Diagnostics Results in

To examine the Power-up Diagnostics results, press the
CONFIG
button, then

View Diagnostic Log
.
Each power on is indicated by a boot time stamp, followed by a list of power on
tests. If any failures are indicted then refer to the action as noted above.
Run Advanced Diagnostics
To run the Advanced diagnostics, press the
CONFIG
button, then select
Utilities
>
Run Advanced Diags
.
Advanced Diagnostics includes tests that check interfaces between FPGAs and
memory on the Main board. If any of these tests fails, replace the Main board.
Isolating Lissajous Display
Errors
The audio Lissajous phase display uses a serial data path between the audio and
main boards. A failure in this data path can be due to a problem on either board.
Perform the following tests to isolate the problem to one board or the other.
