Performance Check/Calibration-Type 310A
NOTE
The —150-V o lt supply can be adjusted to any voltage
w ith in the -1 5 0 -v o lt ±4.5 volts range to bring either
the +100-volt or +300 v o lt supply w ith in tolerance.
f.
IN T E R A C T IO N —May affect operation o f all circuits
w ith in the Type 310A.
2.
Check +100-V olt and +300-V o lt Power Supplies
a.
Connect the DC voltm eter from the +100 v o lt test
point (see Fig. 5-2A) to chassis ground.
Fig. 5 -2 . (A ) Lo catio n o f pow ar supply twit points (inside swing-out
chassis), (B) location o f - 1 5 0 - v o lt ad justm ent (righ t side).
b. C H EC K-M eter reading, +100 volts ±3 volts.
NOTE
If the +100 volt supply is out o f tolerance, readjust
the -1 5 0 -v o lt supply to bring the +100-volt supply
in to correct tolerance. Be sure to recheck the
-1 5 0 -v o lt supply fo r correct tolerance after adjust
ment.
c. Connect the DC voltm eter from the +300-volt test
point (see Fig. 5-2A) to chassis ground.
d. CHECK Meter reading, +300 volts ±9 volts.
NOTE
I f the +300-volt supply is out o f tolerance, readjust
the -1 5 0 -v o lt supply to bring the +300-volt supply
in to correct tolerance. Be sure to recheck the
-1 5 0 -v o lt and +100 vo lt supplies fo r correct toler
ance after adjustment.
3. Check Low-Voltage Power Supply Regulation
a. Connect the DC voltm eter from the -1 5 0 -v o lt test
point (see Fig. 5 2A) to chassis ground.
b. Note the o utp ut voltage o f the -1 5 0 -v o lt supply.
c. C H E C K -V a ry the autotransformer o u tp u t voltage
throughout the regulating rango for which this instrument is
wired and check for less than ±4.5 volts change from the
voltage noted in part b.
d. Return the autotransformer to the center voltage o f
the regulating range
e. Connect the DC voltmeter from the + 100-volt test
point (see Fig. 5 2A) to chassis ground.
f. Note the o utp ut voltage o f the +100-volt supply.
g. C H E C K -V a ry the autotransformer o utput voltage
throughout the regulating range and check fo r less than ±3
volts change from the voltage noted in part f.
h. Return the autotransformer to the center voltage of
the regulating range
i. Connect the DC voltm eter from the +300 volt test
point (see Fig. 5 2A) to chassis ground.
j Note the o u tp u t voltage o f the +300-volt supply.
k. CHECK Vary the autotransformer o u tp u t voltage
throughout the regulating range and check fo r less than ±9
volts change from the voltage noted in part j.
l
. Return the autotransformer to the center voltage o f
the regulating range
4 . A d ju s t H ig h -V o lta g e Supply and Check
Regulation
a. Connect the DC voltm eter from the high voltage test
point (see Fig. 5-3) to chassis ground.
b. C H E C K -M eter reading, -1 6 7 5 volts ±49 volts.
c. A D J U S T -H V A d j, R741 (see Fig. 5 3) fo r - 1 6 7 5
volts.
