Electronic Mail

Send

 - Once the message composition is completed, click on this button to actually deliver the

email.

Print

 - Prints a copy of the message you are about to send, given a printer is connected and the

Internet TV Set-Top Box properly configured to use it (see “Reference: Set-Up

” below.)

Search

 - If you want to send an email message to a user whose Internet address is unknown,

this button lets you type in her or his first and last names. A directory service, much like a Web
Search Engine, will try to locate the user’s email address.

Please note:

only a small portion of all

Internet users is currently listed in these directories.

Help

- Displays the context-sensitive information pages.

Quit -

Goes back to the list of available messages or to the message you replied to.

Customizing Email folders

Please note:

these functions are only available if your Internet Service Provider offers IMAP

capability. The more common POP3 – Post Office Protocol 3 – does not support this advanced
functionality.

When the Internet TV Set-Top Box logs into an email account

, it displays the messages in the so-

called Inbox folder, which is where new messages are stored as they arrive. If your email traffic
increases you might find it useful to organize and store your messages in different folders, divided
according to the senders or the different topics. Selecting the Folder button from the message list
page will display a page to manage folders other than Inbox. If other folders are already available,
their names will be listed in this page.

Change

 - Highlight the folder to open and select this button. This will become the current folder

and the messages it contains will be listed.

Create

 - Displays a window to type in the name of a new folder.

Delete

 - Highlight the folder to delete and select this button. The operation will also delete any

message contained in the folder.

Caution: you will be asked to confirm the deletion, but please be

aware that this operation can not be undone.

Rename

 - Highlight the folder to rename and select this button. A window will appear to type in

the new name.

Help

- Displays the context-sensitive information pages.

Quit -

Goes back to the list of available messages without changing the current folder.

Please note:

even when using IMAP, you can NOT rename or delete the Inbox folder.
