You can select a preferred language for audio, subtitle and
disc menu respectively.

When you select a preferred language that is not recorded on
the DVD, one of the actual recorded languages is
automatically selected.

You can select any recorded language for audio by pressing
the AUDIO button when playing a DVD disc. (It doesn't affect
this setting.)

You can select any recorded language for subtitle using
SUBTITLE button when playing a DVD disc. (It doesn't affect
this setting.)

ANALOG
SPDIF/RAW:
Select this when the unit is connected to an audio component
equipped with a built-in Dolby Digital or DTS decoder via the
DIGITAL OUT terminal.
SPDIF/PCM:
Select this when the unit is connected to an audio component
such as CD recorder or MD deck via the DIGITAL OUT
terminal.
ANALOG (default):
Select this when you don't use the DIGITAL OUT terminal. No
signal will be output from the DIGITAL terminal.

When SPDIF/RAW or SPDIF/PCM is selected, no sound is
output from the speakers, the PHONES jack and the AUDIO
OUT jacks.
To listen to the sound from speakers, select
ANALOG.

In many listening situations, you may find loud passages
objectionable. Adjusting this setting allows you to compress
the sounds into a range that you may find more suitable for a
particular listening situation. Dolby Digital satisfies these
needs through the dynamic range controlling.
Select one of the followings to fit the individual listening
situation of the audience.
FULL:
Audio with fully compressed dynamic range.
7/8 to 1/8 :
Audio with partially compressed dynamic range.
OFF (default):
Audio with uncompressed dynamic range.

This function is effective only when playing back a DVD disc
recorded with Dolby Digital. This control has no effect on other
discs.

To reset the settings, select "RESET" and press the ENTER
button.
All the items in the SETUP menu (except for Parental Control
and its Password) will be reset to the default settings.
