2.0 PLUG INSTALLATION: FLANGE- OR VALVE-
MOUNTED
The following points relate to the installation,
operation, and maintenance of all signaling
mechanism offered; flange mounting does not affect
the interchangeability between a PIG-SIG V and a
PIG-SIG IV, but should be verified on a case basis.
Extensions are offered for both wetted parts and
signaling units. Customers should provide accurate
pipeline dimensions when specifying extended
wetted parts to ensure operation. Wetted extensions
are not interchangeable due to specific sizing for
location.
Before installing the TDW THREAD-O-RING flange,
the sealing faces of both flanges and gasket should
be inspected for signs of damage or debris. Should
any damage be found, equipment should NOT be
installed. An initial test should be performed to
ensure all parts assemble correctly.
Operators guidelines for flange installation should be
followed to ensure correct procedure to torque flange
bolts. Once the TDW THREAD-O-RING flange is
correctly installed on the line (Figure 3.5), follow the
standard installation.
