After a “LAN Reset” is done (see section 4.2), the power supply will create a default hostname
based on the model and serial number of the supply
The default hostname is in the format:
< Product > < Voltage rating > – < Current rating > – < last 3 digits of serial number >
If the rating has a decimal point, substitute “p” for the decimal point. For example,
Model
Serial Number
Hostname
GEN8-180-LAN
28J4210
GEN8-180-210
GEN600-2.6-LAN
15M3229
GEN600-2p6-229
GENH12.5-60-LAN
37B12830
GENH12p5-60-830
The power supply may be set to one of three network modes. Each mode has a different way to
use the hostname. This is shown in the table below

3.7. TROUBLESHOOTING THE WEB CONNECTION
If the web page cannot be opened, here are some common troubleshooting steps
A. Verify the Ethernet Connection
Look at the rear-panel Link and Activity LED (see Figure 2). If it is not green or blinking,
then the Ethernet cable is bad or the other end is not connected to a working Ethernet
port
B. Verify the Supply’s IP Address
View the IP address by holding the “FOLD” button (see section 4.1).
If the power supply’s IP address stays at all zeroes, then the power supply never got a
valid IP address. This may happen when:
-
You did not wait enough time. It takes 30 seconds to get an auto-IP address
-
The power supply is set to static IP (see section 3.5) and there is an address
conflict with another instrument on the subnet
If the power supply is connected to a network, verify it’s address is in a range
acceptable to the network server
These problems are best solved by doing a power supply “LAN Reset” (see section 4.2)
and try to connect again
