10 – Data Transfer Using a Computer
Disconnecting from a computer
Follow these procedures to disconnect from a computer.
Failure to follow the procedures could damage some files.
Always follow these procedures to disconnect.
CAUTION
Do not end the USB connection or disconnect the USB cable
during data transfer.
Doing so could damage data on the computer or the unit.
1. End the connection from the computer.
Follow these procedures to disconnect individual SSD/HDD
drives.
Disconnecting from Windows 10, Windows 8 (including 8.1),
Windows 7
If you click “Safely Remove Hardware” in the taskbar
system tray (usually at the bottom right) to disconnect
the hardware, the DA-6400 SSD/HDD case itself will be
disconnected.
Disconnecting from Mac
Drag the unit's DA-6400 icon to the trash or type
E to eject the DA-6400.
At this point, the SSD/HDD can be removed from the case.
You can put another SSD/HDD into the case now if desired.
NOTE

If you want connect it with the computer again after discon-
necting, disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.

Depending on the Mac OS X version, you can also eject
the DA-6400 by clicking the eject icon next to its name in a
Finder window or using a control key operation.
2. End the connection from the unit.
Press the
EXIT [PEAK CLEAR]
button to end the connection
with the computer from the unit. The following pop-up
message will appear in such cases.
Press the
MULTI JOG
dial to end the connection with the
computer and reopen the Menu Screen.
Press the
EXIT [PEAK CLEAR]
button to return to the pop-up
message that appears when connected.
3. Disconnect the USB cable.
NOTE
Even when an SSD/HDD case has been removed from the
unit, it can still be connected to a computer and exchange
data with it.
