5.2 The Status Display
The start up menu is as shown in Figure 13 below. This is a decoder status display which also activates
after 15 minutes of not using the menu system i.e. the push buttons.

Teletext Icon (T&T). Indicating that the active
service has teletext information
Video Icon (Video Cassette). Indicating that the
active service contains a video service
Audio Icon (Loudspeaker). Indicating that the
active service contains an audio service.

From the status display an icon of a padlock is present if the TT1200 decoder menu system is password
protected. This prevents accidental or unauthorised access and is enabled or disabled in the transcoder-
setup menu. When the menu system is locked the status display shows the current operational status of
each installed channel in addition to the demodulator status (one at the time in a 4 sec. interval). The
status may be one of
OK
,
WARNING
or
ALARM
.
5.2.1 Unlocking the Status Display
The TT1200 menu system can be password-protected to prevent accidental change of the configuration.
To use the menus, a password must first be entered. The following figure shows how to unlock the
menu system.
