11.3 Storage
After finishing work with the machine clean it up from the residues and rinse it with
running water. When using pressure washer or air lines do not direct discharge stream
at any vulnerable element such as stickers, bearings, U-joints of the shafts etc. It is
recommended to carry out a thorough inspection of the machine after it has been
cleaned and dried. Check the condition of all assemblies and if necessary carry out
repairs or part replacements. If the paint coat is found damaged, rub down the old paint
from the place requiring renovation. Then wipe the area clean off dust with a piece of
wet cloth and degrease it before applying a layer of primer. Allow the primer to dry
thoroughly before applying a layer of top coat. It is recommended to keep the machine
indoors to minimalize results of direct exposure on harmful environmental factors
causing corrosion and aging of materials. It is imperative to grease all separable
connections and height adjustment winding mechanism before and also occasionally
during lengthy downtimes (e.g. post-season winter storage). Use anticorrosives based
on silicon to protect pins and threaded bolts against rust. Spray the tires at least 2-3
times a year with UV-protectant spray for rubber surfaces to reduce damage resulting
from sun exposure. When in storage, it is recommended to move the machine around
slightly at least once a month in order not to let the tires to loose shape. Routine check of
tire pressure should be done at least once a month.
