TROUBLESHOOTING
B. Compressor clutch does not engage
Note:
1. After completion of repair work, make sure to reinstall the connectors removed for inspection.
2. Checking the items marked with * is not possible unless you have added refrigerant to the system and the ambient
temperature is at least 2°C.
Turn off the starter switch and remove Connector (13)
from the compressor
Turn on the starter switch, set the fan switch to 1, 2 or 3,
and set the temperature control dial to COOL

Measure the voltage between the female bullet con-
nector and ground connected to the compressor. Is it
10-15V?
YES

clutch is faulty
Repair or replace the compressor

Turn off the starter switch and remove Connector (12).
Check the pressure switch of the receiver-dryer for con-
tinuity. Is there continuity?
NO
Pressure switch is
faulty
Replace the receiver-dryer

Is the compressor normal?
NO
Relay or relay cir-
cuit is faulty
Replace the relay
YES
Is the voltage “0V” between the blue/red and ground of
Connector (4)?
NO
Blower switch is
faulty
Replace the blower switch

Is the evaporator sensor normal?
(see the description for checking the evaporator sen-
sor)

Evaporator sensor
