Task Manager Inputs and Actions 207
When Loopback is enabled and the Tx Key line is activated, the balanced line
in is connected to the balanced line out and the unbalanced line in is connected
to the unbalanced line out. A signal that is sent along a line in is sent back down
the corresponding line out. This is useful for line testing.
When Loopback is disabled, there are no connections between input and
output audio paths.
Example
IF
Tone 15 detected
THEN
Enable loopback
IF
Tone 16 detected
THEN
Disable loopback
You could use a single tone to toggle loopback, but this gives no certainty about
the state of loopback.
Intercom actions
Intercom override actions can enable, disable, or toggle the Intercom system
flag. When the base station enters Run mode, the flag is enabled.
You can use the
Disable intercom
action to disable the microphone’s normal
connection to the balanced and/or unbalanced line output, for example when
the maintainer wants to talk to radios but not to the dispatcher.
For Intercom actions to have any real effect, corresponding audio paths must be
configured in the current channel profile. This means that the base station
microphone must be connected to the balanced and/or unbalanced line out.
When this system flag is disabled, the microphone’s connections are disabled.
When this system flag is enabled, the audio path for the microphone and the
speaker is as configured in the current channel profile’s Signal Path tab.
Intercom actions have no effect on the RF interface or on the speaker; line in
audio cannot be connected to the speaker.
External Tx Key actions
The External Tx Key system flag makes it possible for Task Manager to override
the Tx Key line. External Tx Key override actions can enable, disable, or toggle
the flag. When the base station enters Run mode, the flag is enabled.
When the External Tx Key system flag is disabled, the transmitter does not key
up when the Tx Key line on the system interface is activated.
When the External Tx Key system flag is enabled, the transmitter keys up when
the Tx Key line on the system interface is activated and transmits the audio
provided to it on the balanced and/or unbalanced line in.
The External Tx Key system flag has no effect on the base station’s internal
keying logic.
Note:
The Task Manager action Enable TM Tx Key (see
) directly keys the transmitter.
Reset base station
The ‘do now’ action
Reset base station
resets the base station. You can use
this action in tasks designed to help the base station recover from minor faults.
Important:
Do not create the task:
IF
Base station in Run mode
THEN
Reset base station
This results in an inoperable base station. Be careful with any tasks
using powerful actions such as
Reset base station
.
