The LFE (Low-Frequency Effects) channel
level

, such as Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS 5.1,
can be reduced by up to 10dB if you feel
that the bass is too loud for your
listening/viewing room.
In contrast, if you use a surround mode
which supports a subwoofer (but does offer a
dedicated LFE channel) such as Sub,
then you can both increase and decrease the
subwoofer level by up to 10dB.

1. The LFE channel is the 0.1 channel in a 7.1 / 5.1 recording, including very low frequency (bass) sound effects.

To adjust the level press the
LFE –

keys on the remote. The
applied setting will be shown in the status screen, as explained on
page 23 and shown in the example screen, above.
restoring the base setting
The LFE/subwoofer adjustment (including all temporary corrections,
including lip sync delay and entre gain applied under
quick
settings
, see page 41 and balance settings, see page 27) will be
restored by pressing the normal
ok / normal
button on the front
panel or the
normal
key on the remote.
You can also press
shift
+
surround
and the
audio status screen comes up- in the
example receiving two channel Dolby
Digital data stream processed into 5
channels, using Pro Logic II Movie.
