Symptom Possible cause Remedy
Volume level is
different when playing
SACD compared to
CDs. A difference may occur due to different
recording formats for the two kinds of discs. This is not a malfunction of this unit.
No sound is produced
for digital input. Digital connection is not correct. Check the digital connection.
On a CD player equipped with digital output
level adjustment, the output level is set too low. Adjust the player’s digital output level to an
appropriate level.
The file format is not supported by the
computer’s digital playback software. If the output device is set to a non-PCM audio
signal format (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc.), set it to
PCM.
Digital recording can’t
be performed from
digital outputs.

Some recorders may be unable to record
output when connected to
88.2 kHz
output.

Recording may not be possible when playing
CD-R or other discs with copy protection.
'
Try switching to 44.1 kHz output.

Can’t record.
The power turns off by
itself. If the ECO (power-saving) mode is turned ON,
the unit will automatically enter standby mode
if no operation is performed on the unit for 20
minutes. Set the ECO (power-saving) mode to OFF
(page 17).
Display is not visible. The display viewing angle is within 45° to right/
left from the front of the unit. View the display from immediately in front of the
unit.
The unit is set to display off. Press the DISP OFF button of the remote control
unit to reset the lighting-off function.
The remote control
doesn’t work.

The remote control’s batteries are expended.

The remote control is being used too far
away from the main unit.

Angle is bad.

Line of sight to the main unit is blocked.

Strong light from a fluorescent lamp or other
light source is directly striking the signal

and remote control, or change to a different
location when operating the remote control.

Readjust the position of lamps or other light
sources so that strong light does not strike
the signal receiver.
Static electricity or other external influences may cause malfunctioning of this unit. In this case, unplug the power cord and
then plug back in. This will usually reset the unit for proper operation. If this does not correct the problem, please consult your
dealer.
This unit is designed as a consumer audio product (audio/video component). It is not designed for long continuous
use as a commercial BGM source, nor for use in automobiles, ships, or outdoors.
