10.1 Troubleshooting Error Messages
lists the error messages that display in the action field, their meaning, and what to do.

Error message
What it means
What to do
Cannot start collecting
while input signals’
frequency or amplitude are
out of operable range.
Data collection cannot start if the
input signals fall below 1 MHz or 3
dBm, or go above 30.0 MHz or 17
dBm.
Check the frequency and amplitude
of the highlighted input
Input/Reference frequency/
amplitude changed
significantly. Stopped
Collecting.
The specified signal’s frequency or
amplitude changed significantly from
the values at the time data collection
was started.
Collection was stopped automatically
as not to corrupt data sets computed
thus far.
1. Check the signal connections on
the input and reference ports.
2. Do not bump or otherwise disturb
the test set or the connected
signals.
3. Do not change the input or
reference port signals’ frequency
during data collection.
4. If the problem persists, contact
Symmetricom Customer
Assistance
.
Input/Reference ADC
clipping error. Stopped
Collecting.
The test set did not properly set
attenuators to correctly limit input
voltage to the range the ADC can
measure.
1. Check the signal connections on
the input and reference ports. If
they are within operating range,
cycle power.
2. Do not bump or otherwise disturb
the test set or the connected
signals.
3. Do not change the input or
reference port signals’ amplitude
during data collection.
4. Contact Symmetricom Customer
Assistance
if the
problem persists.
Failed to connect to printer
<ip address>.
(where <ip address>
denotes the address of the
target network printer)
A connection could not be established
to the specified remote printer due to a
network discontinuity or the printer
not being powered on.
1. Check the connection from the
test set
to the network.
2. Check the connection from the
printer to the network.
3. Make sure the printer is powered
on.
4. Make sure that you used the
correct IP address and port.
