Usable Scan Length
The decode zone is a function of various symbol characteristics including density, print
contrast, wide-to-narrow ratio, and edge acuity. Width of decode zone at any given distance
must be considered when designing a system. Calculating The Usable Scan Length
Method on page 2-5, provides a detailed description of how to calculate the usable scan
length. The scan angle is provided in Table 3-1 on page 3-2.
