Chapter 2  

Installation

Overview

This chapter provides the LS 1220 scan engine unpacking, mounting and installing 
requirements information. Physical and electrical considerations are provided, together 
with the recommended window properties.

Unpacking 

Remove the LS 1220 from its packing and inspect the scanner for evidence of physical 
damage. If the scanner was damaged in transit, call the Symbol Support Center at the 
telephone number listed on page xi.

KEEP THE PACKING. It is the approved shipping container and should be used if the 
equipment needs to be returned for servicing.

Mounting

There are four mounting holes (M3x0.5-6H), and two locator holes on the bottom of the 
chassis.

Refer to Figure 2-1 on page 2-2 for mounting dimensions.
