Setting a Personal Security Code (PIN)
To play your messages from a remote location, you will need to enter a two-digit
Personal Identification Number (PIN) code (01-99). To select a PIN, perform the
following steps:
1) Press
MENU/CLOCK
twice.“Security code” and the current PIN code is announced
as it is displayed on the base.
2) Press or
/VOLUME/SELECT
until the desired number appears.
3) Press
SET
to select the PIN code. You hear a tone and the system announces
“Security code” and the new PIN code.
NOTE:
The PIN code is set to “80” when you purchase the phone.

Setting the ring time
The ring time setting allows you to set the number of rings the caller hears before your
answering system plays the outgoing message. You can set the ring time to answer
after two, four, or six rings. Setting
(Toll Saver), the answering system picks up after
two rings if you have new messages, and after four rings if there are none. This way,
if you make a long distance call to check your messages, you can hang up after the
second ring to avoid billing charges.
