4.3.7 Control board assembly SWC-642 and SWC-842
FIRMWARE EPROM
When replacing the control board, the firmware EPROM (position U3) should be
transferred from the old board to the new one.
CAUTION!
Use standard procedures for handling of ESD sensitive components.
JUMPER SW4, SWC-642
From firmware revision 1.17 the firmware senses, at power-ON, whether there is a jumper
in position SW4 (standard). If so, the burn time will be preset equal to the value set by
command ESC q= 10. The jumper should always be installed if the printhead is supplied
with +20 V. This is the case in all TTP 101 printers from serial number 8506 since their
connector board have a built-in +20 V regulator.
With earlier printers (serial numbers up to 8505 inclusive), the jumper SW4 should be
installed only if the printer control board is supplied with +20 V. If the supply voltage is
b20 V and +24 V, the jumper SW4 must be removed to prevent printhead
damage. The burn time will then be preset at power-ON equal to the value set by
command ESC q = 5. The burn time can then be adjusted by issuing the ESC q
command during printing.
