DRIVE CHAIN
Check the drive chain slack.
Drive chain slack: 20–30 mm
If adjustment is necessary, carry out the following pro-
cedure.
1. Loosen the axle nut.
2. Adjust the slack in the drive chain by turning the
right and left chain adjuster bolts.
3. Proper chain slack is obtained when the drive chain
slack is up and down, at a point midway between
the two sprockets.
4. After adjusting, tighten the axle nut to the specified
torque.
Rear axle nut: 100 N·m (10.0 kgf-m)
A: Axle nut
B: Adjuster bolt

FRONT SUSPENSION
Checking spring setting
Make sure the spring setting of the front suspension is
correct.
The standard setting for this motorcycle is as indicated
in the table below.
A: Adjuster
Make sure that the rear sprocket is properly
aligned with the engine sprocket.
Verify the reference marks on the swing-arm by
sighting down along the chain from the rear
end of the motorcycle.
